kris77 Posted January 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2011 My apologies if anyone has asked/answered this already. I'm looking at a cruise for Australia and New Zealand, and so far, I like the itinerary that Celebrity offers. At one point, though, Princess had excursions to Queenstown. I don't know if that's the case anymore though. Does anyone know if Celebrity does this, too?
Trend Posted January 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2011 We are booked with my son who is in Australia for Med. school, for the Dec. 12 2011 cruise. I have been on 18 cruises and use a cruise specialist agent and our choice was the Century a smaller ship that does it right. My son showed his Kiwi friends the itinerary and they thought it touch get spots to give you a feel. Hope this helps we have been on many Celebrity ships and are about to go on the Expedition to Galapogos.:)
moyaroo Posted January 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2011 When we were on Celebrity in Nov 2008 they did the overnight excursion to Queenstown. It is very pricy @$1300-1400 US per person but everyone who did it was happy that they went. I am going on my own this time and the flight from Auckland and rental car over to Dunedin as well as 3 nights hotel in Queenstown will be less so . . . $ ahead and more time to see. As usual cruise line shore ex is a pricey way to see the world.
The_Big_M Posted January 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2011 Although I agree it was pricey, I think your price was probably the price for 2, or converted to NZD, as it was around US$650/person. It was an overnight passthrough trip to/from Dunedin and Milford Sound (depending which way you went) so a bit more than a typical excursion though. moyaroo Posted January 23, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2011 IIRC it was the !300 USD per person. (2 full days tours plus a hotel and some meals ain't cheap when the cruise line is charging)
