2005 Drydock Schedule - Official From Rccl

Recommended Posts

Drydock in early 2006? Possibly (perhaps probably). Overhaul? For Heaven's sake--Mariner is less than 2 years old now. By then, she will be just over 2-1/2 years old; not exactly ancient.

RCI seems to drydock their ships every 2-1/2 to 3 years. As mentioned, this is usually like a major check up: hull inspection/maintenance, painting, repairs, extra cleaning, sometimes upgrades/improvements (although Mariner is the newest ship in the fleet right now, so unlikely because there's not much to upgrade), replacing things that really need replacing--if they replace everything every few years, cruise prices would go through the roof, it's just to darn expensive.

I can't imagine that you will be disappointed with Mariner, even if you go on her before her first drydock. :D

Not trying to pick, but actually Jewel is the newest RCI ship, she just turned 1 year old on our 4/23/05 cruise.

I take it in the spirit intended, but yes you are "picking." LOL. I don't mind. I was thinking only of Voyager class ships, so Jewel slipped my mind. I've heard nothing but good reviews about Jewel. How was she? We loved Radiance and really like the class.
