My travel notebook

After many frustrating foreign mishaps, I know keep a travel notebook. Small spiral bound unlined. I write down all the helpful phrases that I might need..and then get translations which I print in bold type. For example, " 2 tickets for senior citizens round trip from Rouen to Paris , add a little " s'il vous plait" When I get to the ticket booth, I just show the phrase in french and get my tickets. It saves a lot of time. Followup with "merci beaucoup." That much french and the french will be helpful. It works in any location. I've used in all over the world and it makes things easier. Also, include the name and location of any place that you may want to go...include your hotel or ship. Since people pronounce things differently, the printed word is easier to use.
