Smokeyone Posted February 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2011 Has anyone a few suggestion for doing your own "thing" in Barbados please - not a ships excursion. Much like visiting something interesting in the morning, a nice place to have lunch and then a couple of hours on the beach in the afternoon. Does not have to be this but I think you have the idea.....

snorkelphile Posted February 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2011 We had a lot of fun walking to the Princess Alice Public Bus Terminal, taking the public bus to Folkestone Underwater Marine Park, enjoying some very nice snorkeling there, then walking by the historic St James church, on to Holetown (about 1 block) where we found a nice beach bar and had a beer. The bus back was a real gas because it was absolutely packed with school kids and we were packed in like sardines, standing room only, but everyone very polite and helpful. It was a fun day! innola Posted February 6, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2011 I would suggest a little shopping in Bridgetown, then leave town and go to Rockley Beach. It's beautiful and not far away. There are beach vendors for souvenirs and clothing and jewelry, plus a good number of little beach bars. We HIGHLY recommend the food and drink at Chicken George's. If you have a good bit of time, go on down the road to the Gap. Always fun times there! As long as you hug the beach road, you will find great places.
