Red Sea Magic and the cold!!

Recommended Posts

Went on this cruise on 6th January and I just wanted to warn about the cold on the trips.

We did the Wadi Rum dessert trip (highly recommended) and we really freezing. The sun was shining not a cloud in the sky, but it was very very cold. Do not underestimate how cold it can be.

The next day was Petra and we did warn other cruisers how cold it could be, unfortunately some of them never took enough warm clothing and it made it a miserable day for them.

It may have warmed up a little now? But don/t bank on it.....definitely take and fleece and maybe some warm jogging bottoms. I couple of layers underneath and you will be ok.

Hope this is useful.

We went to Petra in March 2008 and it was sooo hot. Walking back up the hill, it was littered with sweating people resting and saying how hot it was! However, the guide told us that the week before (end of February) it was so cold that people needed jumpers and coats. So better be prepared for any sort to weather.:D

Petra is wonderful. make the most of it, it doesn't look as if you are going to get to Cairo or Luxor. :( Have a great time:)

Such a shame if people can't get to Cairo or Luxor, because to be honest the Ports are the pits........really horrid.

We went to Giftun Island from Hurgarda and had a lovely day. Good value for money and although it was freezing in Jordan (Wadi Rum & Petra) it was warm enough for a little sunbathing and some great snorkelling.
