Belize or Costa Maya

Been reading about the problems in Belize with the tendering. Is there any thought from Carnival about dropping Belize and replacing it with Costa Maya? I was looking at some cruises with Belize but would much rather go to Costa Maya. :confused:

Carnival said for the next week they will call on Belize .. if they are in negotiations to change out Belize .. I dont think they would be in negotiations with Belize about the tenders, they would just stop the negotiations as they would be for naught.

I've been been to both and although i did have a good time at both places I love Costa Maya!!! Take a cab to the beach it was maybe 15 min from the ship it cost around $10, there's a clean flea market area with restaurants & music it's great!!!

The biggest problem that I had with Costa Maya was that the venders would not leave you alone. It was the worst at this island (maybe because we were the only ship in port that day).

I agree. Went there two weeks ago. OMG those venders were so freaking bad; that we took a taxi back to the pier and walked around. We weren't harress at all in Belize and felt safe.
