queenL Posted February 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Does anyone know whether kids are welcome in the specialty restaurants? If so, do they charge the same cover as adults?
MOMtoTwins Posted February 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2011 we sailed on NCL but not the epic but this is what we found. kids were welcome everywhere but we chose not to take them to the intimate places(like the french place). our kids did not order off the spiecialty menus(they ordered standard fare) and were never charged
cb at sea Posted February 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Don't know about NCL, but on most ship's there is a minimum age....or you'll need to eat in one of the 1st slots, before the bulk of the passengers will eat.
Kerry's Girls Posted February 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2011 On the NCL Jade, children were welcome in all restaurants at all times. In most of the restaurants kids could order off the child menu and not pay the restaurant charge, but in the most deluxe, including the "Benihana"-style restaurant, kids paid the full charge even if they order a kids meal. I have seen others report that kids who order off the regular menu are sometimes charged full price, sometimes half-price - it seems to depend not only on the ship or restaurant, but who is working it that evening. Not on NCL. Children of all ages are welcome with their parents or other adults at dinner in all venues. Many/most(?) parents choose not to bring young children to the more intimate/romantic restaurants such as Le Bistro (French), but many do bring them to the Asian, Mexican, and Italian places. All most passengers ask is what we ask anyway: If your children act up (fussing loudly, yelling, running around, getting super cranky), please remove them from the restaurant. Parents generally know whether their children can handle a long restaurant dinner; we ask that they take that into consideration when planning dinners onboard. beachchick
