I have heard that Great Stirrup Cay now has wave runners you can rent. True ?? Do you have to reserve them in advance ? Can you rent on the island without a reservation ??

Thanks

Hi Kevin, When I did the wave runner excursion in August of last year, we met in a building on the other side of the island (from where the tenders come in). We watched a video on the operation of a wave runner then were give wetsuits to put on for safety. We were taken on a tour around the Berry Islands. It was about a dozen of us escorted by three diver/rescue swimmers. One in front, one in the middle (side) and one in the rear. We had to ride 100 feet apart, at 25 ( I guess it was knots - might have been mph) to keep control and 35 up to keep up with the group. We stopped at one island, powered down and had a lecture. Powered up and went to another area and were invited to jump off in the water and another lecture (sea creatures in shells). Hopped back on and back to base. It was the best. I look forward to doing it again. There was no riding time on our own which was ok with me as I was new at. I booked the excursion in advance on MyNCL. Enjoy! ;):D

That sounds great! Something very simialar I did in Bermuda. Thank you so much for all the great information. I will be checking out the tours online.

Thanks again, :)

Here's what the excursion says ..

Wave Runner Tour - Single (Driver Only) $99 each

Wave Runner Tour - 2 Guests (1 Driver & 1 Rider) $149

"Take a 45-minute guided adventure through the Berry Islands, neighboring Great Stirrup Cay. After a safety briefing and orientation, you'll board your Wave Runner for an informative and exciting guided tour

I looked at this myself and thought it looked interesting. I wish it was longer for the cost.
