So your allowing the "R" word now.... double standards:confused:

Robyn hasn't trained you very well luv. It's kinda like what's mine is mine and what's yours is also mine. Double standards come with the territory when dealing with the (un)fairer sex ;).

The ugly head may just need those rose coloured glasses to be put on:p Sorry cant delete:eek:
When the "Edit" button is there (disappears after the edit period ends) and you hover the mouse over it, it says Edit/Delete Message. I can edit the message but I can't delete it. Wierd.:(

I just snagged a last minute cabin on this cruise. I was starting to fret there was no rollcall in the rollcall forum  But here you all are :D

I need to go and sort out flights but I'll be back to check out the rollcall.

Put me down for anything and everything :D I'm fun to cruise with. Just ask tassie_cruiser :p

My tip for you Graham is that I advise you not to do the particular cruise numbered W125...it's terrible!! I will go out of my way and do you a favour by taking those tickets off you...you can thank me later. ;):D

Actually, I got an email yesterday, offering an upgrade (for $150 each) from a Balcony to a Mini-Suite

I'll probably pass, and use the $300 for other stuff ... like the foofie drinks that people here are talking about ...

But what about other people here ... is it worth an extra $300 per couple to go from balcony to mini-suite on the Dawn?

The extra 'space' isn't all that important - 3 of the 7 days will be spent on shore - but what 'extras' does that give us? ...

I see there's a bath instead of just a shower, and a couple of chairs inside instead of one armchair and a desk chair (may be important if the weather is inclement)

But is there anything else? Free champagne and fresh fruit? Other little luxuries that I'm not aware of?

And are there any disadvantages? I've seen a post where people complained about the noise from the deck above their cabins (tables and chairs being dragged around by teenagers in the middle of the night) - but are there any other disadvantages (other than the extra $300, of course :-) )

Regards

Gra

Okey dokey. My flights are booked cost me a freakin fortune! Arriving on Saturday morning. Let's hope there ain't no ash cloud!!! otherwise QF can fly me over to Noumea to catch up

This thread is confusing . Who's actually going?

I love cruising on any ship :p

Who's booked shore tours, private or otherwise?

It's late when we get to Noumea so there won't be any snorkelling.

I have no idea what I'm doing LOL I haven't even got a cabin number. I'll probably be in a deck chair :p

Sarah, is this your first cruise?

So are we going to meet at sailaway somewhere? Before or after muster? Suggestions?

I'm leaving everyone at home and travelling solo. So always on the lookout for dinner companions. I refuse to eat dinner in the buffet! Bleeeeeeeeek

Anyone going to try Salt Grill or La Luna?

Sorry I'm a bit slow today, didn't get enough sleep....

Graham from Disneyland (created Jun 2011) doesn't exist and is actually Golfer.

Sarah

Nah - I'm real - I'm just hanging around in here until someone turns up in my Roll Call (for W125).

BTW - I reckon anniversaries are always worth celebrating! Our 32nd (July 21) comes up on one of the sea days on our cruise -which is why I boooked it then!

Assuming I don't get too seasick, we'll probably look at a Western Mediterranean cruise for our 35th in 2014.

Anyway, I'll leave you all to it, and go searching for more first-timers tips :-)

Hey Deb - we chatted many times in the Rhapsody thread. We boarded after you got off back at the start of the year but unlike you we had lovely weather and seas. I'm on this one so I hope your not a bad omen:D.

To the lovely others who've been helpful, kind and fun...thanks. Perhaps we'll meet onboard.

Sunset

:eek:Sunset!! I think you're account has been hacked by aliens!! :p

Haha Debsta...well I won't be on this cruise but will be on the Dawn a couple of weeks after this lot...I'm a little concerned at the state the ship might be in judging by the posts in this thread so I'm keeping a close eye on them!! :D

Yeah, I get about the boards don't I LOL But I'm a good omen....I've never missed a port! Shuffled around maybe, but never missed one....hmmmm OK well we missed Isle of Pines and got Mystery Island instead on that cruise but I made up for it on the next :p Hey we had a few bumpy days.....meant we got great service everywhere though, cos everyone else was barfing LOL hahahahaha

Oh I know it's all in good fun Debsta...hence why I'm here!!:D I have a stirring reputation on other internet forums. It was only right that I gravitated to a cruising forum to stir as well once I became a cruiser!! ;):D

Yoooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo anyone out there?

I still haven't got a cabin number yet......must be getting a deck chair :p or hopefully they're shuffling everyone else around and upgrading me to a suite  :D :p

I wanna go today!

If anyone wants to do the Aquarium, you will have to book a P&O tour due to the time of day we arrive, and they won't open to the public.

Not a big fan of ship shore tours but I've just checked out Pele Island as a shore tour. I'm gonna do that in Port Vila :) and do some smash and grab duty free shopping on the way back :D

The stairs at Jinek Bay, Lifou are gone due to the cyclone in January (which we just loved sailing through btw LOL). I have just read that the other concrete steps have been roped off also, so I have no idea what the go is here to get out to snorkel. When I was there in August last year as well the water was a tad freshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Couldn't snorkel for long, too freakin cold!

Well not long now and just cant wait. BTW - your welcome to join us for dinner if your needing the company........... start the conga line:D

Hey Deano. Just head that about Tiger. Even more annoying is that airfares are going to cost you a bomb! Hope you have travel insurance!

Always needing dinner buddies, so would love to join you :D I detest the buffet for dinner and rocking up on your own to the dining room can land you with some pretty ordinary dinner companions :p

I'm hoping the water out in those parts isn't going to be too cold for snorkeling at this time of year!! Your report on the water temp at Lifou in August doesn't sound promising Debsta!!:( I'll expect a full report from you lot as to whether I need to pack the dry suit lol. :D

Staying on the ship  :D :p Nahhh I booked the Aquarium shorex. Haven't been there before (well not in 30+ years) and I hear it's worthwhile. The only reason I'm booking ship tour is because the Aquarium won't be open to the general public.

Done the chewchew and it's easily booked from the terminal at half the price (about $25 pp I think). When we were there in April we booked a fast zodiac boat thingy around the bays and harbour and at $15.00 per person for 8 of us for about 1.5 hours it was great fun! I can point you in the right direction for that if you like. We also booked the scoot cars in the terminal which were great fun, if not a little....well interesting driving in the traffic LOL But I think we'll be there way too late for that. Noumea isn't my favourite place in the world, and I can just bet it will be my least favourite at night! My email addy is cdmforce at bigpond dot net dot au if you want to email me.

In Vila I've booked the Pele Island Snorkelling trip. Has good writeups on the www.

Soooooooooooooo when and where are we gonna start the conga line? After muster? I love sailaway :D

The zodiac boat ride sounds like fun. Might try that with the kids and hope to still have time for the chewchew:)

I think we will just hire a cab, again, in Vila and go where the mood takes us. I would like to see the waterfalls this time and get into a village and have Karva. As you proberly know none of the P&O shore tours are allowed to have the Karva:confused:

As for the Conga line.......... hell yes at Sailaway for sure. I must confess that I believe P&O do this better then Rhapsody:eek:

Wouldn't disagree about sailaway being better on P&O as well as Island night and the stage shows also. RCL's DVD's are pathetic :p

Had my fair share of Kava in my lifetime and I've done more touristy cultural villages than I can bear :p I wouldn't mind going to the waterfalls either, but I'm also partial to a swim and snorkel. Decisions decisions.

As for packing......the temperature in Noumea at 7.30 pm was 16C

When are you flying up to Brisbane?

Where's Sunset? Sarahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh come out come out wherever you are :D
