pitterpattershoppe Posted February 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Just wondering. Also, anyone know of any in-port? Grand Cayman supposedly has one at the turtle farm. http://www.pennycollector.com/AreaList.aspx -pitterpattershoppe
DarthGrady Posted February 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2011 I've never seen one on any ship.
Giskard Posted February 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Great question! We started our son's collection when he was 3 and he is 16 now! i get all kinds of looks when I go up and get the pennies pressed without a little one now but I can't stop! Its been such a fun thing to do for him! I find I look for them wherever we go.
golfadj Posted February 21, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Never seen one on Carnival or any ports we have been to.
pitterpattershoppe Posted February 21, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted February 21, 2011 I didn't think they did, but thought I'd ask. Wonder why they don't...I would think they get used a lot. Blue Lagoon Island (http://www.dolphinencounters.com/) in the Bahamas also has one, but it was out of order when we were there this past October. :( -pitterpattershoppe
amykrazy Posted February 21, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2011 The only two listed for ports on the western Caribbean cruise are here http://WWW.pennycollector.com. I use this site to find them all over. It's pretty reliable.
pitterpattershoppe Posted February 21, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Yup, that's the site I use too. I'm surprised Atlantis doesn't have any. -pitterpattershoppe The only two listed for ports on the western Caribbean cruise are here WWW.pennycollector.com. I use this site to find them all over. MicksMom Posted February 21, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2011 I really think I have seen them at one of the shops at the port in Grand Cayman & same with Cozumel.
pitterpattershoppe Posted February 21, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted February 21, 2011 That would be nice. Will keep my eyes open. Any thought where the one in Cozumel might be? We're porting there. Were you in the main shopping area or somewhere else? I thought Chankanaab might have a machine, but I haven't seen it listed anywhere. -pitterpattershoppe I really think I have seen them at one of the shops at the port in Grand Cayman & same with Cozumel. MicksMom Posted February 21, 2011 #10 Share Posted February 21, 2011 I am thinking I saw one in the Ron Jon Surf Shop by the pier in Coz. Can't remember name of pier, the one more south of town (Carnival Conquest) I may be completely wrong but I can see it "in my mind" lol Good Luck & Happy Cruising!!! Sargent_Schultz Posted February 21, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 21, 2011 The name of the pier in Cozumel is Puerta Maya: http://www.puertamaya.com/ There are free machines all over New Orleans. Put a penny on the streetcar tracks, wait for a street car to pass, and voila, instant and free pressed penny!

pitterpattershoppe Posted February 21, 2011 Author #13 Share Posted February 21, 2011 LOL!! My dad used to do this with the local trains when he was a boy. I need to look in his coin box...I think there still might be one there. -pitterpattershoppe The name of the pier in Cozumel is Puerta Maya: http://www.puertamaya.com/ There are free machines all over New Orleans. TabFox Posted February 21, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 21, 2011 They have them in Alaska; not sure if you want to go all the way there to get a pressed penny though.
Martini Mom Posted February 21, 2011 #16 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Cool idea for a new Carnival souvenir! My kids would want one for sure and I probably would too. :D
Fighterone Posted February 21, 2011 #17 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Don't know where you live or if you come to Houston... There used to be one at the top of the San Jacinto monument. Haven't been there in a while so can't say if it is still there.
pitterpattershoppe Posted February 22, 2011 Author #18 Share Posted February 22, 2011 That's what I think too. Would be fun to get one from each ship. I'd even pay $1 to press one penny. $1 would seem about right for the up-charge cruise companies charge. LOL! :p -pitterpattershoppe Cool idea for a new Carnival souvenir!
