Concierge Suite Perk???

Recommended Posts

I have a 2 Bedroom Family Suite booked on the Gem. I also have the adjoining mini-suite for my parents. Will I be able to use my perks so I don't have to split up from my Parents? I'd like them to join us for early embarkation, breakfast at Cagney's, priority dinner reservations? Has anyone ever tried using your Suite Perks to benefit a non-suite guest whom you were traveling with??

You have an interesting user name for on line discussion boards ;):D

No preaching here. You asked an innocent question. Believe me, you're not the first to ask.

All of that is up to the concierge. Maybe he will say yes, maybe he'll say no. Ask and go with whatever he can or can't do.

You can easily dine with your parents in the MDR. This is what we did when spending time with my cousin who was not in a suite like we were .

The only surefire way to get perks for all is to book suites for all.

You know what is sad to me about our suite perks? The only in-room dining I really want to do is Teppanyaki but it's not available for in-room. I understand why, of course. I know most people say the show is half the meal, but for me I just love that kind of food and I HATE how crowded you are at NCL's Teppanyaki. So I would be just as happy.. heck.. even more happy.. if I could have it in-room. 8-)

Incorrect. As has been said many times before, adding people to the VIP list is at the discretion of the Hotel Director NOT the Concierge.

I was about to get all puffy about a suite person trying to get perks for non-suite travelling friends.....then i remember that I am going to try to reserved theater seating for my parents who are in a suite, but not on Owners/Courtyard/Villa on the Star.

Guess I am guilty of trying to bend the rules too.

I would never even think about making such a request. Simply not fair to those who pay for it.

With that said, when we were on the Sun I asked our butler about ordering breakfast from Il Adagio for us and 2 non-suite people we had met. He replied "Why wouldn't you just take them with you?". I said I was not comfortable making those requests and he said to leave it with him. About 30 minutes later I get a call from the concierge telling us to absolutely bring them to breakfast the following day.

It was only one breakfast and it likely worked to NCL's advantage because these 2 people fell head over heels for both our AC suite and the perks associated with it. My guess is that their next cruise will bve in a suite ( according to the wife).

... After a cruise we have butler withdrawal sickness for couple of weeks when things we didn't even realize we wanted stopped magically appearing.
LOL... a couple of weeks!?!? To this day my wife will look at me and say, "I miss Nelson." She's worried about how our butler is going to be when we sail the Epic this fall on the TA from Barcelona back to Miami. Will he/she measure up to Nelson!?!?

PE,

Thanks for your you answer. I'll seek out the Hotel Manager for his/her assistance. I appreciate your feedback.

In answer about gratuities for butler and concierge, it depends on how much you use them. For us, $10pp per day is the average for a butler. If they go over and above I will increase that, if they disappoint or we ask for very little, I decrease it. likewise, we plan on $5 pp per day for the concierge and adjust according to our requests and their performance. This seems to be the most common range mentioned on CC.

I'll be on my first NCL cruise in an SF suite on the Dawn in Feb. Traveling with another couple not in a suite. Is it wrong to ask the concierge to make a reservation for 4 in one of the specialty dining rooms if we wanted to have dinner together but not in the MDR?

Another thing I used my concierge for was I met great people at the meet and great and we often ate together, I would call the concierge for reservation for one of the mdr's for like 6-12 of us for dinner. I hate waiting with that pager thingy. I also asked once if I could take a couple who were so sweet to me if I could take them to Cagneys for breakfast she said yes. I was solo and only ate breakfast twice on a 10day cruise so I didn't abuse the privlege. My butler is invaluable when I was sick she brought me food dvd's helped me figure out how to play them and also brought me food when I came back from casino around 2ish in the morning. I couldnt live without them:D I also tip them well because I never met a bad concierge or butler have a great time

Thanks for the butler/concierge tips. I'll probably ask for the menus as suggested and then make a plan of action. The only one I'll book WAY ahead of time is the Teppanyaki. A standing order of brownie sundaes???? That's indulgence :)

This is some step up from a regular balcony cabin! Well, it IS our honeymoon.

Thanks again, AJ

I see you're on the Pearl in a few days and I hope you get Jeffrey as a butler as he was a great butler. Always had a genuine smile on his face and nice to talk to. If you do have him tell him we (Lisa & Steve) know he'll have his running shoes on Wednesday and have a great time with his family! (His family is in Jamaica).

I hope you will have an absolutely wonderful Honeymoon with calm seas!

No, the concierge can reserve the table... it's fine.

P.S. This thread is over a year old.
