love2306 Posted March 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2011 We are trying to find the closest patch of sand and ocean to the tender dock. It doesn't have to be Seven Mile Beach or extremely beautiful or have any amenities, we'd prefer to be able to walk. We have an 8 month old and just want to let her sit in the sand/ splash the water for 10-15 minutes tops. Hence why we dont want to pay for a taxi or the bus to take us to SVM or walk for 30 minutes in the hot sun. So where is the closest spot?
curacaoqueen Posted March 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2011 I believe to the left of the tender area there is a small beach to wet your feet. it's by a sea wall, nothing special. But it's in town.
TurtleTagger Posted March 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2011 I would suggest you take a cab/mini-bus for the short ride to Smith Cove Bacadere. You can also walk along the waterfront and find some small spits of sand past Casanova's restaurant up towards Pageant Beach that may work out just fine. bookbabe Posted March 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2011 With short walking distance for a young child like that, you're not going to find much more than patches of sand (as in, large sandbox-sized) with ironshore (hard sharp rock edges) along the water, which will be fairly deep...not somewhere I'd let a toddler paddle their feet. Anything half-decent is going to be at least a half hour walk for a child that age, IMO...
