mama_2_boys Posted March 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2011 We have an interior room with two uppers. I'm ok with our 4 yo sleeping on one of the bunks, but I don't trust my 2 yo (he still sleeps in a crib at home). I've read the ideas of putting the mattress on the floor or using trays on the bunk. Just curious where everyone had their 2 year olds sleep if they didn't have a couch. Thanks!
cb at sea Posted March 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2011 Many ships will have a safety bar to slip under the mattress...that might be an option, but many folks will just put them on the floor....that way, they have nowhere to "fall"! Is your 2 year old small enough for a P&P? That could be an option, too. Just contact the cruiseline, and request one!
Julienatul Posted March 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2011 We just pull the made up mattress off the upper bunk and place it on the floor below. The little safety bar is not safe enough for a 2 year-old in my opinion. Then in the morning just put the matrees back on the upper bunk and the steward will put it back into the wall. sunrise&set Posted March 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2011 I agree to put the mattress on the floor. How big is your 2 yo? We cruised when DS was 23 months but he was big for his age - he fit fine in the pack-n-play the ship provided. But I know this may not be an option for you if the 4 year old is in a bed :D.
