I could say deck 12 suite :D, but what kind of cabin are you in the market for ??

Inside, ocean view, balcony, suite?? Middle to aft of ship smoother ride. The higher and more forward you go the more movement you may feel. More info please......

Which itn. on the Star - Alaska, Coastal/Repo or MR ? Perhaps you want to eleborate what you consider as "best" for the cabin category ?

Depends on # of factors in the matrix - your budget, preference for OV/inside or Balcony & above, etc. ?

Some folks see the cabin as a place to sleep, change, shower & store items for 7 days - others spend lots of time & don't mind the chills and aren't prone to motion/sea sickness, etc.

Personally, we prefer deck 8 or deck 5, as it's easy to up or walk down to/from the main deck (reception/lobby, deck 7) to the theater, casino, restaurants, bars & lounges, MDR's & specialty, and the newly relocated Spinnaker Lounge (deck 6, aft) - the only place that we would need to ride up by elevator is the buffet on deck 12 (but it's not our preferred venue, seen & eaten in too many corporate cafeteria & alike year-round .... on vacation & enjoy a leisure meal being served, one course at a time & not having to juggle a food plate & coffee mug while dodging others in all directions. :D

Happy planning & cruising .... :)

It depends on the kind of room you are getting and where on the deck you are. I have been on several of those decks on the Star. If 12 is not an option for you, then I recommend a mini suite on 11. If that is not an option then 10 mid ship would be my preference. Not such a long walk from one end of the ship to the other if you happen to get a room on one of the ends. Also, the 11th deck is pretty much all cabins, so you wouldn't be under any noisy area such as the buffet or pool area.
