Desdichado62 Posted July 18, 2013 #32 Share Posted July 18, 2013 Hello: We will be arriving on June 1, 2014 (Royal Princess). Since June 1 is a Sunday, can you provide us with the commuter train to Stockholm schedule for Sunday. We also appreicate if you have any comments about getting around Nynansham e.g. shuttle bus and ho ho bus. Are most stores and tourist sights open on Sunday. Thank you Well Nynäshamn is a quite small "generic" town. More of a transit port where people go to catch the ferries to Gotland or Poland. Most stores will be open. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyn%C3%A4shamn There are not that many sights. http://www.visitnynashamn.se/en/home/todo.4.421534701375ce1f7f680002882.html The only "sight" that I know of is Landsort: http://www.visitnynashamn.se/gora/aktorer/batterilandsort.5.1c7e861513bbc93e947b20.html You are way to early for commuter train schedule for June next year, I would not expect info about it before April next year. However this summer it leaves once/hour at ten to each whole hour. The journey will take approx 1 hour and 6 minutes. To be honest docking at Nynäshamn is basically a ripoff/fraud by the cruise line. Way to far from Stockholm and also you will (as mentioned) not experience the quite unique sail in/sail out to/from Stockholm. You should really try and consider if its possible to change to another crusie? I think its time that you cruise pax showed the cruise lines that docking in Nynäshamn is not acceptable. Nynas Tourist Posted April 23, 2015 Author #33 Share Posted April 23, 2015 A local shuttle bus runs in the morning and afternoon. Tickets are 30 SEK and can be bought from the Tourist Information Office by the cruise ship pier. The tickets are valid the whole day. Walking takes about 10-15 minutes (1,3 km); follow the blue line on the pavement. You can see a map here: http://kartor.eniro.se/m/sdZWT Please note that this bus is not in any way related to the 24 hour ticket/card or Stockholm Public Transport. Nynas Tourist Posted April 23, 2015 Author #36 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Go to http://sl.se/en/ Now you can see a blue box "Plan your trip". Write "Nyn" in the white box that says "From station/stop/address". Several choices will appear, choose "Nynäshamns station (Nynäshamn)". Write "Sto" in the white box that says "To station/stop/address". Several choices will appear, choose "Stockholms C (Stockholm)". Then choose among "Depart now", "Depart earliest" or "Arrive at". Choose date and time and then Search. You can, of course, choose other stations as well. Stockholm C is the central station and a good start for exploring Stockholm.
