Carnival Babysitting

A few questions about this topic....we are cruising aboard the Inspiration in a couple weeks.

1. Do they babysit in the room? Or do you take the kids somewhere for babysitting? I know how camp carnival works...but this is unclear.

2. Can I book the sitter in advance?

3. Is it customary to tip the sitters?? We are believers in tipping....just wondering how others feel about it.

Thanks in advance!

The night time babysitting that they offer is done in Camp Carnival. They offer sitting for infants through eight years old in the the Camp area. The 9-11 year olds are in a seperate area from 10pm to midnight. After midnight they are in the Camp area also. The charge for any child after 10pm is $6 per hour for the first child and $4 per hour for each additional child.

This next part I copied from Carnival Funville - I haven't used this option yet.

Under 2 year olds will also be offered babysitting services on Sea Days in the form of a Family Play Time. During this time parents are welcome to stay with their children to play free of charge or if you choose you can leave your under 2's with Camp Carnival for the regular babysitting fee. We also offer Port Day Babysitting for your under 2 year old. The early morning port service will begin 15 minutes before the ship's arrival in port until 12pm and for late ports this will be offered during 'free play' times (see your Youth Staff when you arrive on the ship for details).

Hope this helps

We have used the babysitting. Its in the camp room and they do have cribs set up for the young ones and pillows blankets for the older ones. As described above for under 2 it is fom 10pm-3am nightly and also from 8-10am on sea days and port days from time of arrival in port until noon or later if arrival is later. If they are over two Camp is free from 10am-10pm daily. You do have to pick them up for lunch and dinner (12:45pm-2pm) and 4:45-6:00pm). they do offer "dinner with your friends" from 6:00pm and they will take them back to camp following but only for age 2 and up. We do tip them at the end of the week if our kids use camp or babysitting alot. Depending on how much we use them for the week. The babysitting is charged directly to your sail & sign card (onboard account). Its $6/hr
