Legend Minibar question

Will your steward remove everything from your minibar for you so you can use it as a fridge? That was one of my favorite things about Celebrity. I never would have thought to ask but our steward offered. Just wondering if CCL will do this as well?:confused:

Yea, they will stack it on your desk. Rarely will they remove it from the cabin.

 

I just remove a few myself and put in a few of my own sodas. Make sure its full when they open it.

 

Iv had times when it was already unlocked and not full.

I asked twice on my Legend cruise in November. Nothing was moved and you could barley fit anything else in there. But the steward did ice anything we left on top.. I would sometimes get the two beers in a bucket but only drink one and ended up with a few on the desk. Every day they were on ice.

The mini-bars will keep cold items cold but their capacity to coll is weak. If you have the cold items in the mini-bar removed so you can fill it with your warm items, chances are your cruise will be over before your stuff gets cold. I've made this mistake and I've found a way that works well for me.

 

I remove just enough stuff so I can place a few things in. I bring a small collapsible cooler with me for use on excursions but I like to chill items down on ice before I put them in the fridge. The more items I chill the more items I can put in the fridge replacing cold items inside. I keep the mini-bar stock on the bottom shelf in the nearest closet and let the steward know so he will not replace items and bill our account.

 

If this sounds like alot of trouble it really isn't It takes just a few minutes and once I finish I'm usually good for a seven day cruise. For me it beats the frustration of having nothing cold in the fridge. YMMV :)

When we were on the Legend, we took everything out of the mini-bar-fridge ourselves and put it in the top drawer of the vanity. We initially left the drawer open so the room steward could see what we had done. There was never a problem. The morning we left, we put everything back in the same organized order that we found it.
