Another drink question ~ going green~

This is a question I've not seen but am sorry if it has already been answered.

I am a big Diet Coke drinker and plan on purchasing the soda card. However, I have a 24 ounce Tervis tumbler that I take with me almost wherever I go. I refill it at the convenience store, use it at home, etc. I love that it holds so much and I am not using so many stryofoam cups.

I plan on taking it our cruise but was wondering if I could hand it to someone at the bar, along with my soda card, and ask them to fill it up?

Thanks!

I saw this same question posted last night, and two people said yes. One said she tipped $1 each time, Id plan on tipping if you want something special like this in a huge tumbler. You might look for the thread. I doubt its protocol but some said they were allowed.
