Still no Stateroom Assignment. 10 days till cruise departure

In early Februrary 2011, I booked a the Crown Princess to depart March 19. Since we could not choose a stateroom, we chose "GUAR" for the II category. When looking at the cruise personalizer, we still don't see an assigned stateroom.

 

Is this normal? We're first timers, so this is all a new experience to us.

 

Does anyone ever have to wait until they arrive to board the ship, to learn their stateroom assignment?:eek:

 

Should I consider calling Princess?

We did a guarantee once on RCCL and were given our room assignment at the dock. It was no big deal really. We are cruising in May and once again are in a guarantee room.

This can happen quite often with a guarantee. Sometimes the assignment shows up months before sailing, other times not until the very last minute or when you arrive at the pier. Nothing at all to worry about. Calling Princess usually won't do you any good at all, the cabin number will be assigned when it is assigned. You will have a stateroom by the time you arrive at the pier.

If no stateroom assignment shows up on your personalizer before you leave, when you check your luggage, they will have a roster with your name and cabin number on it and you can fill in your luggage tags with the cabin number before turning over your luggage. Enjoy!

You can get a cabin assignment any time up to and including when you arrive at the cruise terminal. If you do not have it before, the porters will have cabin assignments and you can write it on your luggage tags before turning them over.

It means you've been upgraded to a suite.... Oh wait, you're not travelling April 1?

The personalizer closes for changes about 5 days before the cruise. However, you can still go there to access the boarding pass or luggage tag and if you get an assignment then, it will be on those items.
