Celebrity Summit vs Caribbean Princess

We sailed the summit in 2002 and the cb in 2007. The summit is a great ship, better then the cb, a lot less crowed. The spa pool is great. The problem with the summit over cb, is the pools closed about 8 at night and the buffet was not open all the time. We also think the summit was more formal then the cb, but that depends on the time of year you sail and the age group. The cb is bigger with more shows then the summit each night. We liked the cb too, but if we had to pick one, it would be the summit for the ship, but loved our cb cruise. We love princess anytime dinning, don't know if summit has that. All of this might be different now, so i think you can't go wrong with the summit or cb.

Any other questions, ask.

Have been on both ship

cb is more crowded

will have a good experience on both

i think the deserts and pizza are better on cb

either way - both are good

cb will have a more modern pool area - if you are around the pool alot -

when a ship is refurbished - hard to make the pool area more modern - this was the case on the millenium - beautiful updates but not at the pool

MLC;

Both are great ships. We really enjoyed both and wouldn't hesitate to go back on either one. We would choose the ship that best matched our mood at the time we were going.

If we were in an upbeat party mood it would be CP. If we wanted something more formal and sedate, and perhaps refined, we would do Summit.

Ya can't lose!

We were on the Sumitt for 14 nights last fall. This was our 1st Celebrity cruise and we are Elite on Princess. We chose the ship because it was round trip out of New Jersey.

The ship was very classic looking, bathrooms were the biggest we have ever had on any other cruise, room size was similiar to any Princess or Carnival ship we have been on, plenty of storage in bathroom as well as closets. Ship was in need of a overhaul, while I don't look for small things there were many bigger items that needed addressing, broken tables and chairs in the lounges, broken tiles in the bathrooms, buckling carpet in many areas of the ship. We found their buffet area to be somewhat confusing and it closed down right on time. We were doing a Canada/New England cruise and one chilly afternoon we came in looking for soup but there was none to be had, however I loved their pasta station. Cookies were also hard to come across, sometimes you just need that little bit of sweet in the afternoon. The ship was totally lacking for evening entertment, we did late seating and most evenings there was nothing at all to do. If there was a show that we wanted to see we had to go before dinner. On the formal evenings the late show was at 10:45. Can't speak much on the pool area's as the only day we even sat outside was the afternoon we sailed. The main dining room was beautiful, 2 tiered and well laid out. Good luck and have a great cruise:)
