DisneyCruiseFansMc Posted March 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2011 I was just on the Gem last week & LOVED Sienon the cruise director. He had a hiliarious Top 10 list of questions he's been asked & I was wondering if anybody remembers the whole list. I've got: Is the water in the toliet fresh or salt water? Do these stairs go up or down? Do all the crew sleep onboard? What do you do with the ice sculptures after they melt? I need 6 more!! HELP!!! 98Charlie Posted March 15, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2011 We've heard the "Top 10" list on 5 different cruise lines:p I think it comes from the "CD's Comedy Training Manual". Here's the usual ones: 10. Do these steps go up or down? 9. What do you do with the beautiful ice carvings after they melt? 8. Which elevator do I take to get to the front of the ship? 7. Does the crew sleep on the ship? 6. Is this island completely surrounded by water? 5. Does the ship make its own electricity? 4. Is it salt water in the toilets? 3. What elevation are we at? 2. cabincop Posted March 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2011 Another thing people say to me is that they love to watch the water go by as we sail(the ship sails not the water):D
valleyvillage Posted March 15, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2011 One CD had some funny rejoinders to the questions, a la Bill Engvall... does the crew sleep on the ship? Nope! Late at night we have these really quiet helicopters take them all home! Here's your sign!
sdmike Posted March 15, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2011 Was on a flight from LA to HI once, and someone asked the flight attendant if the flight was non-stop. Without hesitating the flight attendant said "I sure hope so, honey"
sdmike Posted March 15, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2011 Another I've heard (in ship shows) is: What language do they speak in Alaska?, or Do they take dollars in Alaska? (here's your sign)
timeforadaiquiri Posted March 15, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 15, 2011 I think someone posted a compilation from cruise directors of these top 10 on YouTube.

What time is the Midnight Buffet being served? Yes...these questions have been around at least since I started cruising in 2001. I've heard many Cruise Directors deliver this material but it takes someone with really good comedic sense and timing to make the audience laugh. It's hard to believe that "what time is the midnight buffet" is number one, since midnight buffets are obsolete.
