Rare crewsweeper Posted March 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2011 Has anyone done this excursion through RCL recently?? just wonderingif there was any problem getting back in time??? If you do this through a ship sponsored excursion, the ship will wait for you. Your tour guide/company will inform the ship of any possible delays. Wanetadrift Posted March 20, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 20, 2011 was supposed to leave at 7:30, was changed to 8:00 then didn't get on bus that took us to the boat for the New RIVER Safari until 9:00. Restroom and free juice, water stop at outdoor restaurant where we got on boat for river ride. Two 200hp motors and boat can fly at times around winding river. Slows down for wildlife, other boats, fisherman, docks. Still enjoyed lots. Ruins at Lamanai very interesting and guide informative. Rough walking for about 1/2 the hike though. Wear good shoes and bug spray. Many climbed the ruins. Got back on boat, had buffet lunch at restaurant (very good and homemade), back on bus, dropped off near port and still had an hour to have a margarita and cruise through all the touristy shops at the port. Would not recommend this trip for small children or persons where walking ability is limited. Overall, really enjoyed this excursion and worth the money. I would concur with this assessment as well as we just did this on March 15/11...the boat ride is fun and fast, the meal on the way back is good, the ruins are impressive (to me anyway) and can be climbed...they are 112' high and it is easier going up then coming down
Casbi Posted March 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 25, 2011 @Wanetadrift & @alicam - Was this a ship sponsored excursion? If not, who did you use? I was prepared to book with Island Marketing and have been reading mixed reviews. Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated.
