China Visa-Hong Kong, Sanya-Single?

We will be flying to Sydney from Canada on Nov 19/11, returning from Hong Kong on Jan 25/12.

Our only stops in China will be Sanya & Hong Kong. I don't think Hong Kong requires a Visa (is that correct?) so will we be OK with a single entry Chinese Visa?

Since our return from Hong Kong is 10 weeks after we leave, and a single entry is good for only 3 months, how far in advance can we purchase to cover the dates required & what is the best/cheapest place to get a Chinese Visa here in Canada?

You are correct about HK, no visa required for Canadians.

Whilst there's a general visa requirement for mainland China, I have a feeling that a day-trip to Sanya by cruise-ship may not require a visa either. Or mebbe something fixed up by the ship?

You need advice from someone who's visited just Sanya, not Shanghai, Beijing etc

No no, not at all. I am just trying to figure out how we get around the 3 month expiry & where exactly to order the visas from.

There is almost 10 weeks between when we leave & when we visit Sanya & a single entry has a 3 month expiry I think.

I don't want to order them last minute & from the wrong place.

Beware the age of the following cc thread, but it makes interesting reading if your only Chinese visit is to Sanya

http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=728487

And this local gov website offers citizens of Canadian, US, UK & various other countries visa-free entry or they can obtain their visa on arrival.

I'd say its well worth digging deeper
