eddieg07410 Posted March 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2011 Does the obstructed view make the balcony pointless? Also, we are thinking of doing a february 12 cruise. I know it will be cold leaving Baltimore, but when does it actually warm up and staying outdoors is enjoyable? Finally, we were on the Valor this passed February. How does the Pride compare. We enjoyed the Valor very much.
Cuizer2 Posted March 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2011 Your really need to be more specific. Are you referring to the cabins on deck four or five? I assume you are referring to the cabins on deck five. The "obstruction" is that if you look though the glass below the rail you will see the top of the lifeboat. Rare finoky Posted March 20, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2011 The forward three lifeboats are taller and offer up more obstruction. We were in cabin 5230 which is back by the three aft lifeboats. Here are some pictures that I took.

9876 Posted March 20, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2011 The obstructed balconies on The Pride can be a great value. You can't see directly down but you have a nice view out. No worries. If you want the long balcony try 5236.
Irishlinny Posted March 20, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 20, 2011 5142;5144;5146;5148;5150;5152;5154; 5145;4149;5153? I can't access deck plans at the moment, but look at the deck plans and see if these are aft of the 1st 3 life boats. If so, then go for it. Those lifeboats are higher...more obstruction. And as the above poster mentioned, 5236 has a really long balcony!
eddieg07410 Posted March 20, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted March 20, 2011 That 5236 is up a couple of categories from the standard Obstructed view. Do you know anything about the cabins right next to it or acroos from it like 5235?
Rare finoky Posted March 20, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 20, 2011 The pictures I posted above are of 5230 which is 3 forward of 5236. It is between two lifeboats and was a great cabin for the money.
