We are going out of Bayonne on the explorer this May and we are trying to figure out how we are going to get there.

 

Does anyone know how much it costs to park there?

For a 5 day cruise it is $95 to park and worth every penny unless you can get someone to drop you off for free. Cab fare from the Newark area is about $50 each way.

There are public transportation options also. Give us a general location where you are starting from and maybe someone could suggest a train, bus or limo.:)

Folks - you will get better answers to these questions on the East Coast Departures board. Public transit is an option, but it does involve a cab from the light rail station to the port. Bus from Albany has also been discussed, but I don't remember the details.

I seem to recall that Yankee Trails bus line runs a bus to/from Bayonne and their Rennselaer bus depot. Check their website, sorry, do not have it.

Hi Cruise Wizard.

I see you were on The Oasis a few weeks back.

You stayed in Cabin 11194 (or so I read in the thread).

Can you tell me if the bed was at the balcony or near the bathroom / closet ?

Country Inn and Suites has a stay, park and cruise package. It includes breakfast and a free shuttle to the port. It was maybe $20. more than parking at the port by itself would have been. They pick you up at the end of the cruise also. A lot of us stayed there last May. Be careful when you book because they have different packages. Tell them you want the free shuttle to the port package. We booked it online. Shopping is nearby in case you forget something.
