Using Gift Certificates for Shore Excursions? HELP!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

My husband and I are booked on the Liberty of the Seas in May going out of Barcelona. My mother gave us a gift of a Royal Caribbean gift certificate for our shore excursions. When I just tried to book them right now I was told since we had a gift certificate I had to wait until on board the ship to book them. This runs the risk of the excursions we want to do booking up. Is there any way around this?

If I would have known this I would have put them on my credit card and had her pay me back. Since the gift certificate is already purchased there is no way to get the money back.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

that's right....a gift certificate becomes an "onboard credit"....and you don't actually posssess the "credit" until you're ON the ship and have your shipboard account set up!

You could book the excursions now, and use the onboard credit to pay the tips and any expenses you'll have (soda, alcohol, spa, etc....)...it will work out the same!
