debster11 Posted March 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2011 Someone in another thread said you can bring soda and water on as long as its in your carry on. I don't know. I had put water in my suitcases and it got on ok but never tried soda.
firefly333 Posted March 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2011 The new rules say 12 nonalcoholic drinks in your carry on only. I wouldnt think it would be a problem, since it says you can.
bunchesofun Posted March 27, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2011 I've heard the bottles, whatever size, are okay as long as it is no more that a 12 pack per person.
*Mach* Posted March 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2011 Is it allowed to bring two 6 pks....of plastic bottled (16 or 20 oz) soda onboard? Yeah, you can. It need not be packed IN your carry on luggage but it must be carried on. :)
mrypop Posted March 27, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 27, 2011 We always bring 2 6 packs of the 24 oz bottles. We put them in a small duffle bag with wheels and pull it on. Never had any problems.
Appleton Posted March 27, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2011 What if I wanted to bring on, for example, a 64 oz. plastic jug of pineapple juice? Would I be able to do that, or does it HAVE to be the smaller, personal sized bottles? I wouldn't try to take 12 of the 64 oz. bottles on, just one... or two, maybe... :D I've also read about people taking on non-alcoholic drink mixers. Is size an issue on those? I don't see many 20 oz. bottles of drink mixers around. Thanks!

You might want to look for a couple of smaller bottles that you'll be able to keep cold after opening. I carried on 6 - 710ml bottles of pop no problems. Appleton Posted March 27, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 27, 2011 Yes, good point. I hadn't really thought about it. I'm glad to hear that the option is probably there, though! Thank you for the answers.
StingRaysfan Posted March 27, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 27, 2011 Our last cruise I brought on a 6 pack of Sprite and a large bottle of Fruit Punch in my carry on. Not even questioned about it when it went through the Xray... I totally expected someone to be there to inspect it and check everything about it too... oh well... ticka1 Posted March 28, 2011 #13 Share Posted March 28, 2011 I want to get a carry on on wheels - is that okay for my soda. I'm taking Coke, Sprite and Rootbeer (mix/match 16 oz bottles). Is carryon's with wheels okay to use - my back can't support much.
Red Eye Jones Posted March 28, 2011 #14 Share Posted March 28, 2011 I have a small duffle bag with wheels. The soda and water go in there and it is easy to roll. At the end of the cruise, the things we held out of the luggage that was picked up the night before go into the duffle and off the ship we go. DH & I had our soda, wate, binoculars & camera in the carry-on. We were ready to open it so they could inspect the bottles & nobody gave us a 2nd glance. Same with looking at our allowed 2 bottles of wine we carried on. (Galveston)
