February 2012 - Peak time

Hi experts! I am currently trying to figure out when the best time to book our flights is.

 

I realize that we are traveling during peak times, many schools are off this week for mid-winter break. However, I know that fares are very high because of the problems in the middle east. Should I sit tight and wait?? Or just grab as soon as they come out since they will probably be at their lowest now!?

All as you will get to your question is wild guesses. The situation in the Middle East could calm down and oil prices could drop, or the problems could escalate and spread to places like Saudi Arabia and other major oil producers.

There is absolutely no way to know when fares will be at their lowest. It's all a guessing game. Purchase when it's a fare you can live with, and then don't keep checking prices or you will make yourself crazy.
