NCL Sky: 3 Night Bahamas Cruise - Freestyle dining & Formal night ?'s

We are sailing with friends on NCL Sky June 3rd-6th out of Miami. We have never sailed on NCL so we had some questions after reading some posts. Any advice or tips would help!

Does "freestyle dining" mean that if you do not want to eat at the buffets you will have to pay? or is this just the same as "anytime dining" where you choose your time and place you want to eat? (any recomendations of where to eat would be great too!)

Is there a formal night on NCL's 3 night cruise?

Freestyle is similar to anytime dining. Like on other cruise lines there are the main dining rooms and buffets that are included in your cruise fare. Freestyle Means you can dine in these locations anytime. There is no set schedule, assigned dining time or seating. There are other restaurants you can choose from as well (reservations reccommended) however these do require an extra charge.

We took this 3 nt cruise last December and I think there was one "dress up or not night". Not too many people dressed up. There are 2 dining rooms which serve the same menu. The food was fine but not outstanding we tried both dining rooms and the service was good in both You cannot reserve so it really is freestyle. We ate in Le Bistro one night and did not think it was as good as Le Bistro on other ships.
