Salsa Dancer Posted April 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2011 I was very disappointed to learn that Royal implemented a 60 day time limit on transferring a booking to a travel agent. I typically transfer late--close to final payment date--and have enjoyed the great perks that my agent had to offer. I booked in December and missed the 60 day limit, just due to being totally unaware of the policy change. I'm now considering cancelling my booking (no penalty involved before June 22nd) and rebooking via an agent. Her perks are far better than the $150 OBC that I had by booking "Next Cruise" with Royal. I will lose the $150 but gain a lot more by going through my regular travel agent. Has anyone else ever cancelled and rebooked and did the process go smoothly for you? paul929207 Posted April 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2011 A couple of things to be sure of: 1. Price. If you rebook, you may have to pay the current price. Is it higher? 2. Cabin. You may loose your cabin by canceling and rebooking.

You may loose your cabin by canceling and rebooking. Both very good points. The sizable price drop that I received is still in place, and there are plenty of cabins still left so I am going to be able to rebook and retain the cabin, if done carefully. Good reminders, though. Have switched a cruise line booking to agent with no problems.
