Dream B2B cruise Question

Can anyone that has been on a B2B Dream cruise tell me how they are working the second part of the cruise?

When I booked my cruise customer service told me we would be escorted through customs, then up to pick up our new room card and then we could get back on the boat to enjoy our day.:D

We have the same room for both cruises so we were told we could just leave our stuff in our room.

I have read conflicting info  from different posts that looks like they have done it different ways. Any info would be appreciated.

thanks

If you didn't see it already, check out my post "Off Dream 3/27..." and I describe it there towards the top. You can leave the stuff in the room. Let me know if you have any questions.

Can anyone off of recent B2B cruises tell me how there experience went with leaving and reboarding the boat on second leg of cruise? Do they escort you throught customs or are you on your own? I read where 11:00 seems to be the boarding time for all to get back on.

We have a B2B cruise in Oct. and I was woundering if the process went smooth and how they are doing it now. Luckly we have the same room so that will not be an issue.

Thanks

We did a B2B last August (so, it's not "recent") but our experience was:

We met at a designated location (near the guest services desk).

We waited for most of the guests to leave the terminal.

We went to customs in a group and got right through (because it wasn't busy)

We were taken around to go back up to the terminal where we checked in again

We then were able to board shortly after that (as soon as the ship cleared customs)

I don't recall if we were able to go back to our rooms.

We went to Cove Cafe and had some drinks, little sandwiches and a few cupcakes.

Then we went to the Cove pool and had some more drinks and just chilled.

It was very relaxing and felt like we had the ship to ourselves.

Just off b2b cruises on the Dream. There were about 30 or so people who were cruising b2b. We were neither directed to meet at a particular location nor were we escorted off the ship or thru customs. After most guests exited the ship, we debarked as if we were not doing b2b, went thru customs, and then went immediately up the escalator to the terminal. A terminal was open and we were checked in and given new ktw cards. We waited in the concierge waiting room and then were the first to board the ship shortly after 11 am.

The process went smoothly although many of the cm's in the terminal had no knowledge of the protocol for b2b cruisers. It felt like we had the ship to ourselves for almost an hour. Have your camera available for some great picture opportunities. Aquaduck opens at noon.

If there are any particular questions, feel free to ask.:)

This was our experience on our July/Aug. B2B. We had to be off at 9:30 AM. Back on by 11 AM. We had 30 min. of alone time on the ship before they let on the new passengers. We did laundry in the AM. Their were a few things at the Cove Cafe. We did have to get our piture taken so they could start a new folder for us. We did it in the evening after dinner. Any line will do. We loved our B2B. It was nice being in the same room too. Now my DH wants to do a B2B 7 night. Fingers crossed. Enjoy your trip.

Thnks all for the info. Seems as their is no one protocol but that is fine with me. Ya'll have gave me some good info on what to do and when to do it.

We want to get the most out of our 2 cruises that we can so thanks for the tips.

Dizzyworld are you saying that you did this on the last night of your first cruise? If so where did you do it, customer service?

"We did have to get our piture taken so they could start a new folder for us. We did it in the evening after dinner. Any line will do."

Thanks all

BTW. On the last night of the first leg we informed Shutters that we were doing a B2B and they pulled all of our pictures from the first leg and combined them with our folder for the second leg.

Not to mention, they "all" (both cruises) showed up on the television in our cabin. I thought that was pretty cool!

You leave your stuff in your room if you're going to have it the next leg. Then you are escorted to customs as a group--super fast. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring the empty ship-you'll never see it empty again and it's fun!

We LOVE b2b!

Thanks all for the info and tips. I will be on the Dream in 3 Days and will post any tips I find from my B2B cruise.

Hope the weather holds out for both of our cruises.

Got to go for now as my dw is trying to pack 5 suitcase of cloths in 3.

Where you given any type of instructions on what to do the morning of the cruise? If most CM's weren't familiar with the policies, how did you know where to go, when to go and where to wait???

There will be A letter in your room with instructions and forms. On our 4day it was, iirc, the night before last. Our experience was like Escolade.

Just off a b2b. Dream procedures were abysmal compared to other lines. No. No one tells you where to go. No one knows the protocols for B2B cruisers. Think of it not as a continuation of your first cruise but as an entirely different second cruise.

They rushed us off the ship by 9 am. This meant we were in the same line as tired families with their luggage going through customs. After we went through that line, we went upstairs and waited for the terminal to open to check in again. We did not get back on the ship till 11am. No escort. Just a full morning of hurry up and wait and wondering if we we're in the right place. A total wasted morning. Holland america handled it much better, and we are rethinking our Magic B2B in august.

Just off the dream on 10/2.
