starshine214 Posted April 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2011 Has anyone been to the Sonesta Great Bay Resort as an excursion? If so, any feedback? We are traveling with our 15 month old son and looking for something laid-back and family friendly. Thanks!

We are traveling with our 15 month old son and looking for something laid-back and family friendly. Thanks! LeGalion Beach has the nickname "Baby Beach" because of the calm, shallow. clear water. There are facilities, a restaurant and chair rentals along with natural shade all which make it a great place to spend the day. Great Bay on the other hand is not on my list of beaches that I swim in because of documented pollution issues. If they have a pool at the Sonesta it may be a good choice for you as well. It is close to the port and very near the shopping area which makes it very convenient.
GeneD Posted April 14, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2011 at the Sonesta for a week quite awhile ago and they had two pools there. It was nice with a beach area but we didn't go into the ocean. There was an earthquake out in the ocean while we were on the island! Also we would walk into town multiple times maybe a 10 min walk. Short ride by taxi. Not sure they cater to day trippers though. Where is Baby Beach located? we are looking for a calm beach or place with a nice view & pool--last time we visited, at orient beach the water was way too rough for us to even put our toes in!... would love to find a nice resort with pool & a great lunch menu!!! LeGalion is the beach just before Orient. It is a protected bay and it is nicknamed Baby Beach because of it being so calm and shallow and perfect for the little ones.
