cruis247g Posted April 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2011 Any advice about last minute excursions in Cozumel? We were going to finally go to Tulum with the ship's excursion, but once again we've decided that we would rather go snorkeling, sailing, or to the beach. However, we've decided this after our ship's excursions are closed because we're only 4 days from sailing!! (Terrible planning!) We could still book a snorkel tour with Island Marketing (several thing we would like are full) or we could simply wait until we arrive and see what is available at the pier. We are a family of four (two adults, one teen, and one preteen) and would like to snorkel on Palancar, but would be happy to combine snorkeling with a catamaran cruise or beach. Any advice? HAs anyone waited until arriving? Has anyone booked on the ship? We've been to Cozumel several times, but have always had a plan prior to arriving, so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks to anyone and everyone with any advice:)!! Have a great day.
Whimsy88 Posted April 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2011 We've done some of the organized stuff- glass-bottom boat, dolphin encounter, etc. But the best time we ever had on any island was when we went to Cozumel with no plan except to rent a Jeep. When we got off the ship there was someone standing there with a picture of a Jeep, so we followed him back to his booth- turns out it was one of the American companies (Alamo?). We toured the whole island- lighthouse & croc reserve at Punta Sur, natural bridges and blowholes on the windward side, Jan Gervasio ruins, beach & snorkeling where ever we felt like it. I think we spent just over $100 for the Jeep, insurance, gas- everything.
