Weather in October?

The weather doesn't change much in FP. I have taken PG cruises in May, June, July, and December. It is a bit more humid in the winter months. You can get rough seas at any time, but particularly as the Captain makes time going between, for example, Bora Bora and Moorea. I am VERY susceptable to motion sickness, and I have been out for the count perhaps one evening on the cruise. The rest of the time Bonine does work for me.

As far as rain is concerned, December is supposed to be the rainiest month, but on our last 10 day trip two years ago in late December, we had no rain at all, until we landed back in Papeete. The next cruise leaving after us had LOTS of rain. But remember, rain comes and goes in the tropics - pouring one minute and sun out and beautiful the next. That was what was so nice about our excursions too. In Bora Bora it started to rain on a snorkel excursion. All the captain had to do is go to another part of the island and we had lovely blue skies.

Enjoy!:D

Since you are on a ten day itinerary you will be making a little more open water crusing than on the 7 day. We have never had any issues on the 7 day cruises with rough seas, but I suppose a 10 day cruise may have a higher chance of foul weather and rougher water.

Theweather is really very consistent from my experience we have cuised the PG in February, April, June and October and only the February cruise was relatively damp. It rained some on all our trips. October should be fine but you are in the tropics so expect some rain and you won't be disappointed.

Have been twice in Oct and the weather is fine; don't feel like the seas are any rougher than other months (victim of the FP blue, I'm afraid, have also been in Jan, March and June); Is your itinerary the tuamotus? You will likely experience some rocking on the way out to the atolls and back -- nothing serious. In October you stand a chance of seeing the whales who come up from Antartica to foal (not sure if that is the right term for whales) You will have a terrific time, and possibly, succumb to the flu yourself.
