memory conversion

Recommended Posts

I recently upgraded from a Canon SD600 Elph to a Rebel T1I that take the same type of memory card. I want to be sure I have enough, I assume the T1I uses more memory because the files are bigger correct? Don't want to be caught short handed, and dont want to bring y laptop.

Thanks!

The files are, of course, larger. Memory is so inexpensive nowadays that it is well worth your while just to buy twice as much as you would think you will use and rest assured.

I typically shoot 16gb-20gb on a week-long cruise with both cameras but routinely carry 40gb+ with me.

Your camera manual will tell you how many photos per GB. lternatively insert a blank card in each camera and read how many pictures are remaining. At $10 or less for a 4GB card, buy a bunch!

May answer a few questions.

More is better. I have been on vacation and had to buy more memory cards and paid quite a hefty price for them. I have four 8gb cards plus two 4gb cards that I bring with. I also bring my lap top and back everything up on it and also leave them on the cards until I get home and can back them up on my external hard drive. I am paranoid about losing them :)
