Australians booking cruises with American Travel agents

Hi

I am new to this forum so please forgive me if I make some errors.

I am planning to book a cruise either with MSC Orchestra from Barcelona to Spain, Portugal or Royal Carribean Adventure of the Seas from Malaga to Canary Islands.

The American Travel agents are offering much better prices for the same cruises to what I can get in Australia.

Has any Australian booked with one of these travel agents in America and if so has it caused any problems for you.

Advice needed please.

We have no clue as to why the cruise lines habitually charge Aussies more money for cruises (some say it is simply because they can). Until recent years we were aware of some Aussies who would simply book by using online US Travel Agencies. But in the past few years some of the cruise lines have put restrictions on travel agencies that prohibit them from accepting bookings from folks that do not have a US or Canadian address. Since the policy seems to vary by cruise line it certainly makes sense for you to do some online research and e-mail some TAs to see what cruise lines (if any) allow them to accept bookings from Aussies.
