Select dining and MDR - quick question

It might be possible - are you speaking about just randomly being seated with strangers or dining with someone you know on the cruise who is at a regular assigned table? On my last cruise we had a table for 10. On nights where at least one couple was going to be away at a specialty restaurant, we sometimes obtained permission from our waiter to have friends take their place who either were in Select Dining or Aqua Class. We did this on several nights.

Thanks Gonzo70 - might be worth a try then. Our SIL and BIL will occasionally not have their children with them so we our hoping to take their slot once anyway.

Worth a try anyway, I am sure we can make sure people get their tips.

Thanks for all the answers.

With the further information that you might be taking the place of missing family members at their table, I think you will find that this will not be an issue. Were Select Dining passengers to just show up at the MDR and expect to be seated, that becomes a problem.
