All4fun&fun4all Posted April 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2011 We were able to order through room service on our sailing on Triumph. I asked my PVP if we would be able to do this on our Fantasy sailing in June of last year and he said it was "ship specific" and that we may or may not be able to do so. We didnt try on Fantasy though, because we didnt need to this time around. :)

I believe prices are the same, but if you're at sea, you won't have to pay sales tax.

cruise_control Posted April 18, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2011 Do they add gratuity if you order through room service? GREAT question, sml3. I'd say no, just tip like any other room service item, but maybe someone else has firsthand knowledge. We've always just called and ordered ahead of time. nikita Posted April 18, 2011 #10 Share Posted April 18, 2011 Thank you - now if you can't use all the alcohol in the bottle can you pack it in your luggage and bring it home? We don't have to worry about flying as we are driving home from the port. They don't check for opened bottles in the luggage on the way out do they? And to OP sorry I've sort of hijacked this thread...

UncleInci Posted April 18, 2011 #12 Share Posted April 18, 2011 If you're driving home, I don't think you'll have a problem. Technically it is illegal in many areas to cross over a border into a state with an opened bottle of liquor, even if it is locked up in your trunk. This has nothing to do with any open container laws; but instead, simply ABC taxes. That said, the odds of getting caught are practically zero. We live in Tampa where we are embarking and disembarking from so no problem there.
