Butler & Concierge Service..what do you use them for?

We asked our Concierge to make reservations for us in the main dining room once (for after the suite party cause it was "Lobster Night" and I was afraid it would be crowded), and he gave us a song and dance about how he could only do it for after 8:30 but "to check when we leave the party." I took that as a NO.

My dd loves having the butler bring her dinner to the room while we go out, having DVDs delivered, pizza at any time of day (or night)... She runs him ragged, so we tip accoringly. We also got breakfast delivered VERY early when we had an early excursion in Egypt. We also asked our butler for MDR dinner menus, my dh insists we go to lobster night. This si the only dinner we pre-plan (unless dd convinces us to do Teppanyaki, then we reserve early as well).

We use the concierge to make our dinner reservations (including for the MDR), escort us to the Chocolate Buffet early and when my dh blew out his knee just before boarding in Barcelona last year, she helped us arrange wheel chair service in Rome.

First time NCL, first time with a butler.

I know you can get a bar set up by booking ahead but can the butler get you bottles of liquor too? We are not in owners suite, etc so we'll have to pay but I was wondering if the butler can do this?

Yes, the butler will get you your liquor, but you have to order and pay ahead of your cruise. You can ask for mixers when you board, or bring your own. I believe you have to pay for the mixers unless you're in the OS or GV. I've never tried ordering while on board, but I believe they charge by the number of shots in a bottle instead of the set up price.

Have a great time!

My understanding is that the bar set up should be ordered ahead of the sailing......

You can also order the bar set-up on-board, as well. The difference is that you will pay a 15% service fee on-board, as opposed to the $3 advance order fee.

Sorry if this was also already answered.

... If you have the UBP are the sodas from the in room fridge charged in addition to that as well?

While I'm not 100% sure, I believe they are not included, only fountain sodas. Hopefully someone else will come forward with a positive answer for you!

The concierge only makes dinner reservations for the specialty restaurants, correct? I thought I had read somewhere in another thread (which I cannot find) that someone had requested reservations in the main dining room as well. On the Dawn in July we had asked for reservations in LeBistro, as that was my understanding. Just curious.

We have been able to do it for the main dinning rooms as well as specialty
