LakeStL Posted April 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2011 OK, I'm kind of new to all this. What's a "hump" cabin? Thanks.
cb at sea Posted April 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2011 On some ships, the hull "bows" outward....usually right at midships...that's the "hump". Look at the deck plans...it's clearly visible IF your ship has a "hump"....not all ships do! The main draw of a hump cabin is location. Most hump cabins don't have more or less space because of the hump, but there are a few exceptions. Radiance class ships on RCI do have larger balconies on SOME of the hump cabins. Again, refer to the deck plans, as it's quite visible!
ScubaNPcruiser Posted April 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2011 OK, I'm kind of new to all this. What's a "hump" cabin? Thanks. Middle of the ship balcony cabins. Example on Voyager of the Seas where the ship is curved in the middle the hump cabin is square in the middle of the "hump." Hope that helps : )
FlaGrl4Evr Posted May 1, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2011 We had the first cabin in the rear hump area on the Carnival Legend. This was cabin #6218-port side.. We LOVED it as we only had one balcony neighbor and nothing across the hall but a wall. We were right on a corner so not a lot of foot traffic. We were just a short walk to the rear elevator which we never found busy. It there was a downfall, and this is very slight, it would be that there seems to be a lot of wind on the hump cabin-balcony -vs- the recessed ones. If you look at the deck plans, there are several of these cabins on the ship. I would book another in a heartbeat.
