marc62 Posted May 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2011 Hello Everyone After two previous cruises with RCCL we wanted to move up a level. We are on the Ryndam in July, we have a BB balcony cabin for our cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. Can anyone offer any advice on anything which we should not miss or will make our cruise experiance with HAL better? V'sGirl Posted May 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2011 Hi Marc, I don't have any real advice, just opinion. My husband and I were on Ryndam in the Caribbean a little over a year ago. We enjoyed the convenience of having everything so near at hand - no trekking for 15 minutes from one end of the ship to the other. Even though she is not a large ship, she never felt crowded. We found our favorite table in the Oceans Bar every night before dinner where we enjoyed a drink and dancing, and our waiter knew our names and what we liked to drink after the first night. We met really interesting people. We had fixed seating, and our tables mates were our parents ages; he was a fighter pilot in Korea and his wife had enjoyed many glamorous trans-Atlantic voyages in the late 40s and 50s. They had fascinating stories to tell and we continue to keep in touch. Because we enjoyed the size of Ryndam so much, we are sailing on her sister Veendam next month. I hope you will enjoy your voyage as much as we did. Beth
Rare kazu Posted May 1, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2011 What kind of advice are you looking for? I love this class of ship myself (just look at my signature). Here's a few - the fresh squeezed oj in the morning (Lido & MDR). bringing all the soda, wine, water you want on board for consumption in your cabin. The strings before or after dinner A soda card if you like soda to save 1/2 price (if you can drink it all). The beverage card if you want to save 10% on your drinks. check the Explorer for the happy hour/2 for one drinks. Definitely try one of the cooking classes or mixology classes. The crew - they are fantastic and can make your day. The special coffees (expresso, cappucino, etc.) are available free of charge in the MDR. Not sure if this helps, just let us know and we are happy to. enjoy your cruise :)
