Can one get kosher meals for some but not all meals? Does one need to order in advance?

Which cruise line? I think you'd have a better chance looking this up in the FAQ's in your line's official website - it's a starting point, anyway. :)

All the major cruise lines offer kosher meals.

They are frozen in the styrofoam box that was sealed by a rabbi.

They are microwaved in that same box. The seal is broken and the styrofoam box is opened in front of you. The food is served in that same styrofoam box at the table.

 

You need to request the food before the cruise, to ensure that the ship has enough stock onboard.
