Advice for disabled person

We're taking my Mom, who is 86 years old, on Celebrity Summit to Bermuda. She's really looking forward to her first trip to Bermuda and seeing the pink sand beach, but she's pretty frail. She can walk short distances with a walker, but will also have a wheelchair. Any advice for how she can get around to see the island? Should we just try a taxi tour? What about the beach? A friend apparently told her there are wheelchairs you can use to get on the beach, but I have no idea where you would get one (e.g. are they on a particular beach? Do you rent them there? ) Thanks for any advice!

Taxis are probably best, whether for a multi-hour tour or just getting from one place to another. Buses are not handicapped accessible, but you can go on the ferries with a wheelchair.

 

If I'm not mistaken, there are beach wheel chairs for rent at Horseshoe Bay. Perhaps someone can verify that my memory is not playing tricks on me.
