Free on demand channels?

I have heard that Celebrity has free on demand channels as well as pay-per-view movies. However, on the Connie, we found the channels very limited and there was no free on demand. Did we miss something or were we misled?

We got off of Equinox 2 weeks ago and had the on-demand free movies and certain shows (like Smithsonian and Nat Geo things along with some ship info (like building of or refurbs)). We really enjoyed the TV enhancement with the on-demand feature. I don't think Equinox had it when we sailed her in 11/09.

We had a free on-demand movie channel on our recent Eclipse TA; the movie selection left something to be desired, but at least you could watch a movie when you wanted, not try to catch one that was continuously spooling throughout the day, like on some ships.

 

I would have liked more/different movies for a 13 night cruise, but the on-demand feature was great, once we figured it out. It's almost impossible, on other ships, to catch the beginning of a movie, since they seem to have quit printing out a schedule of when the movies start. Also they have some strange scheduling, like kid's movie starting at 11:45 PM, etc.

But we don't go to the theater very often, so we appreciated anything that was produced later than 2009!

DH and I enjoy having the TV on while we are getting ready for dinner, or at night when we are headed to bed. It would be nice not to have to watch the same thing over and over again, or settle for news.
