Gerd Posted May 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2011 … Hello happy cruiser hereby I refer to my report about the splendid Inaugural events onboard of the MS Nieuw Amsterdam last June. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1236319 Does somebody recently cruising on here have found those blue walls around the Atrium of the vessel ? If yes, do you have pictures ? Does someone has somewhere have seen the white flags I also talked about, or are they all placed in the bridge area ? ariawoman Posted May 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2011 As of when I sailed on her in 2010, the wall was not yet installed. I believe there were reports through december of the wall still not being installed but that it would be in the atrium. Not sure why it's taking so long! I was hoping to see it. Someday I'll have to book her again to visit the wall :-)
jtl513 Posted May 16, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2011 We were on board just before ariawoman, so of course we didn't see the signature wall either ... and didn't notice any white flags that you described either.

Happy cruising G E R D GERD it was told to me by the Captain when we were on the Neiuw Amsterdam this past March that this would be installed this summer when the ship arrived back in Europe. He was pretty sure they would do a bit of an unveiling of this. So I am sure in the upcoming weeks we will hear about this :)

Gerd Posted July 26, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted July 26, 2011 .. Dear CC member, I’m still interested to hear about those inaugural blue walls – are they now at the Atrium, or somewhere else ?? Side-remark : During my Ms Ryndam cruise last month, I asked the Captain about the white Flag – well, he even did not know about it. Which means that the Ryndam Captain, present at the inaugural ceremony, took it as a souvenir at home…. Happy cruising G E R D 193 HAL sailing days - 42'587 Nm :
