breaking larger bills on the ship

Is there anywhere onboard where I can get change for say, a $100? I'd like to have smaller bills for tipping and whatnot, but I dont know if i'll have problems in the airport if they find stacks of small bills in my luggage.

Yep the casino definitely will break your hundred - they broke three of mine last summer. Course I didn't get any change back. No big deal though, I'm happy that my hard earned money went to support the casino's charities. That's what I kept telling myself anyway!

That happened to me too!

I always get 50-100 $1 bills my bank sometimes still has $2 bills if so I get those because people normally do not see $2 bills Mexicans think they are fake.

Why on earth would you think having a bunch of small bills would cause a problem at the airport.

And why on earth do you put cash in your luggage.

Next time you fly could you give me your flight number date and city of departure, I have several friends that work at airports and I will make sure they check your bags for security purposes.

Put any breakable/valuables/necessary medicines in your carryon bags.

One cruise notice went out for someones lost suitcase. Contents were listed- clothes, shoes, computer. Don't know if the luggage was found or if the computer was still in it.

i'm going to be keeping my luggage with me at all times, so having it stolen from my bags isnt the issue. but i do vaguely recall reading somewhere (airplane, customs, international travel?) that you're forced to declare cash in excess of a certain amount. and if my bags get "randomly" security checked, wouldnt you be suspicious if someone had stacks of $1's in their bags? maybe if i dress like a stripper, it wont be questoned...

perhaps i'm just being paranoid

The amount is $10,000 before you have to start worrying about declaring cash to customs.
