Alaska Canned Dungeness Crab sales

We will be in Alaska in early June and wish to purchase canned dungeness crab. We have it in our local stores but it is so finally grated that there is no taste. I had formerly gotten my canned crab in the state of Washington but since I will be in Alaska if there is a cannery or store in either Juneau, Skagway or Ketchikan to purchase cans would appreciate any info. The cans that I got from Washington were little chunks of crab and not grated. Again thanks.

Sorry I can't help you with where to get canned crab (but there is a cannery next to the downtown dock in Juneau) but please try to treat yourself to a "fresh" crab meal while in Alaska. Any type of crab.

I haven't tried it, bit Dungeness crab is in the Salmon Etc. catalogue at http://www.salmonetc.com/specialties.html. We went to their store in Ketchikan for salmon where the prices were less than on-line.

Suzanne, thanks alot for the info on the crab. That will be one more stop I will make. As Monte stated above I knew about the cannery at Juneau but now I have two sources. Again thanks to the both of you.
