piggy backing onto Karens questions:

How do they know that you ordered an appetizer and come back later for entrees?

Yep, page two and not one photo of food.

Is there a menu on their site?

We booked our cruise to the Western Car about 60 days out last year and Nachi was full. I sent an inquiry off today to see if we can go in November.

Two questions for those of you who have been lucky to go there:

Is there shade, umbrellas, palapas??

Is it an easy entry into the ocean? (bad knee) Is it rocky--will I need water shoes?

Thank you for your help!

Karen

You have your own palapa. Easy walk in entry into the ocean, no water shoes needed. (I should know - one knee already replaced and the other needs it) Bring your own towel.

piggy backing onto Karens questions:

How do they know that you ordered an appetizer and come back later for entrees? You have the same waiter all day for drinks and food.

Are there umbrellas at the pool? Can you opt to sit there for the day instead of in the sand?

There are chairs, tables and umbrellas by the pool if you prefer to stay up there - the swim up bar is usually in the shade! :D

Good luck! :)

I only wish Nachi would do a 7 day all inclusive deal, it is so hard to leave and go back to the ship, they really take care of you and the drinks and food are top notch. They only want to make sure you a have a great day at their location and don't worry about whether you have one or two appetizers. It's the best deal going on an excursion that i have found.

The guy that owns the hotel, Casa del Mar, also owns Nachi Cocom.

I know that if you're staying at the hotel, you have access to Nachi.

My waiter at Nachi and I were talking about this. I'm pretty sure he said you'd still have to pay the fee for the AI at Nachi. This has been a while ago, so maybe it's now changed.

Here are some from a different visit...

Palapas on the beach

Here, you can see the umbrella, table and chair set up around the pool. They quit putting the mats on the loungers last time I was there. There were alot of complaints about that. I haven't been back to see if they have the mats again.

There are so many Nachi threads that I didn't know where to post this one. Here's my review that I'm posting on TripAdvisor.

It’s True….You can’t judge a book by its cover

If your idea of paradise is to lie on a beautiful beach, at water’s edge, have drinks and food brought to you at your request, then this is the place to be. The entrance leaves a lot to be desired but once inside, the property is nice and clean and the view of the ocean is beautiful.

The outside of the resort looks run down (perhaps rustic is a better word) but don’t let this fool you. The location to the water, exceptional service and excellent food overshadow the outward appearance. This is a perfect location if you want to avoid raucous crowds and blaring music. And you can’t beat the price.

My two sisters and I traveled to Cozumel via cruise ship. Our port stop in Cozumel was on Saturday June 2nd. This was our first visit to Nachi Cocum, (we did Playa Mia last November) and we didn’t regret our decision to go with Nachi. Perhaps it was because it was Saturday, and we were the only cruise ship in port, but there were no more than 25 people on the beach during our stay that day.

After winding our way through the market at the pier, we found the taxi stand. The fares are clearly posted and our fare was $15 one way for up to 4 people for the 15 minute ride to Nachi Cocum.

We arrived around 9:30am, at a manned, gated entryway. We then proceeded down a long, unpaved, pot-holed roadway for approximately 100 yards. We were greeted by a young lady who snapped our picture in colorful sombreros for a “welcome” picture and then directed us to check-in where we had to produce a printed copy of our reservation confirmation.

After checking in, we were escorted to our lounge chairs and tables, under our own Palapa, located no more than 10 feet from the beach. We were introduced to our waiter, Joseph who was very attentive throughout the duration of our stay and provided excellent service. The beach was clean, and the water was very clear with very few rocks. Unfortunately it was overcast and rained off and on during our stay but I was still able to enjoy the water for a period of time.

The drinks and food far exceeded our expectations. Our drinks included margaritas, tequila sunrises, beer, and gin and tonic. We were pleased with the extensive menu offering and the amount of food served. We ordered Guacamole and Nachos for our appetizers. For the main course, the Grilled Shrimp was extremely flavorful as was the meat in the chicken fried tacos (we call them Flautos in Texas). We were too full to order dessert.

Due to time constraints, we decided to depart around 2pm and our waiter arranged for taxi service back to the pier, even escorting us our taxi.

Nachi Cocum is a great “well kept” secret and I will be visiting again the next time I’m in Cozumel.
