eddmel Posted June 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2011 On the O website we notice that for some of the 2012 Riviera cruises only the brochure fares are shown. In the past for all O cruises there has also been a listing of the available promotional or 2 for 1 fares. As we have one of these trips booked we are concerned since we purchase our air way ahead (that is 330 days in advance). Does this absence of the available fares mean that the Riviera may not be put in service on the schedule planned? Be glad to hear any thoughts on this. Thank you. Rare LHT28 Posted June 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Maybe they are sold out  Are you already booked on one of those that is not showing the promotion rates? If so did you get the 2 for 1 pricing? Lyn
eddmel Posted June 3, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Lyn, we did get the promotional fare when we booked ... they were displayiing promo fares then. We have asked our TA the question and are waiting for her to reply. If the cabins were all booked the website usually shows that they are sold out. As I understand it, Oceania was none too happy about how close the shipyard cut it with the delivery of the Marina. If you recall, the "shakedown cruise" had to be canceled at the last minute, and the ship only arrived in Barcelona a few hours before her maiden voyage. As a result, Oceania has a much firmer grip on the construction of the Riviera, to the extent that former Oceania President Bob Binder is acting as a full time liaison between cruise line and shipyard. If promotional fares are not offered for some of those initial Riviera sailings, it is probably due to strong demand, not concern over delivery of the ship. If you got the promotional fares then I am guessing it is a glitch with the website/webmaster Maybe "the powers that be" will notice ;) Lyn
RetiredFL Posted June 3, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2011 I think the web site is having problems. I looked at the Riviera cruises and some show promotional fares and some do not. There is also a tab that pops up with 2 for one fares and credits. We are on the Marina in October and the fares on the web page go from all available to all sold out and back again to all available, all in one day. Your travel agent will have the correct information but I strongly suspect that there are promotional fares for all cruises.
