Transportation question

We are going on our first cruise in September, out of Port Canaveral on Royal Caribbean. We are flying in to Orlando the day before and will be staying at a hotel in Port Canaveral.

Question-in your opinion, what is the best way to get to the pier and then back to the airport a week later? The hotel does not offer shuttle service to the pier-I already asked. Was thinking of renting a car to get from the airport to the hotel. Can anyone suggest a good rental company that has a drop off close to the pier?

Then what about the return trip to the airport-does the cruise line offer shuttle service?

 

Any and all thoughts/ideas are appreciated!!

We rented a car in both directions, it was the cheapest and the easiest for us. Our flight back home didn't leave until late afternoon so we were able to stop at Cape Canaveral to tour that as we had not been there before. I think we used Budget but there are many rental companies that have drop offs near the pier.
